Cicada is the Buster Keaton of our herd. Due to her shiny black coat, she is a choice target for our pesky deer flies. As a result, she has perfected the art of the dramatic escape-dance. Cicada is one tough cookie, and a true protector of the herd (and herself!). She is a member of the elite group of our first five milkers. With fancy Roeburn heritage, we picked her up from a breeder in NH on a hot summer day and her cry instantly reminded us of the call of a cicada. She was around before Elvis joined the farm, and she definitely takes on the role of goat.defender, especially with a keen eye for my brother's little dog, Ajax. Her daughter Caddis was a true sweetheart and is now part of a new herd of cheese goats up in the Northeast Kingdom.
